The Avon & Somerset Police Rural Affairs Unit is receiving numerous reports of livestock worrying. It reminds dog-owners to act responsibly when walking in the countryside. Livestock worrying is a criminal offence: it does not require livestock to be injured, allowing a dog to be out of control around livestock is an offence. The impact of livestock-worrying on our farming community can be devastating. Please always keep dogs under control around livestock. Offences can be reported to 999 while happening, and online or to 101 after the event.
