Closure and Diversion for Road Resurfacing in Portishead (B3124)

North Somerset Council will be resurfacing parts of the B3124 in Portishead during a four week period from 29 July 2019, which will include 24-hour road closures.  This will affect access from our village to Portishead, and, at the start of the period, towards Clevedon.  Please see North Somerset's letter for the schedule of works and road closures.  During the first week, the very bottom part of Clapton Lane will be closed, and there will be no through access; during the second week, there will be no through access during site working hours, but outside of these, access towards Clevedon will be controlled by temporary lights.  The diversion route is given in North Somerset's road closure notice.  We have been assured that there will be multiple signs on both ends of Caswell and Clevedon Lanes that these are not suitable for diverted traffic, and that the closure of the Clapton Lane/Clevedon Road junction will be signposted clearly at the B3128, to avoid vehicles coming through the village and finding they have to turn around and go back.
