North Somerset Council has given permission for the closure of Whitehouse Lane (between its junctions with Cadbury Camp Lane and Caswell Hill) for up to two weeks from Wednesday 19 August, to allow the National Grid to complete cabling work, involving trench digging. They had hoped to manage this under traffic light control, but due to the narrowness of the road and the required depth of the trenches, this cannot be done safely. The work will be completed as swiftly as possible. However, the closure will be 24/7 and total for its duration. The most up-to-date information about road closures arising from the Hinkley Connection Project (HCP) can be found on its website. You can also contact the HCP Community Relations Team on 0800-377 7347.
